Resumo:

  • Scope: this guide is about payment fraud and chargebacks on orders, not advertising click fraud.
  • Shopify's native tools split into Fraud Analysis (indicators and eligible-order risk recommendations), the free Fraud Control app (analytics, checkout rules and Flow templates), and Shopify Protect (reimbursement on eligible orders only).
  • Shopify Protect requires a US Shopify Payments account, a Shop Pay order of physical items, tracked fulfillment within 7 days and in transit within 10 days, and no address change after checkout.
  • Fraud Control, per Shopify, "doesn't guarantee coverage against chargebacks."
  • Shopify says merchants usually have 7 to 21 days to respond to a chargeback, and the bank's review can take up to 75 days after submission.
  • Specialist tools differ: some offer vendor guarantees, some only screen or block, and Chargeflow covers post-purchase prevention, alerts and dispute recovery.

Shopify fraud prevention uses two layers. The first is Shopify's built-in order-risk tools: Fraud Analysis, the Fraud Control app and Shopify Protect. The second is third-party detection or chargeback-protection software. It closes the gaps the native tools leave open.

Each layer does a different job. Shopify's tools flag orders. In narrow cases, they also pay back a single order. Specialist tools add screening, guarantees where offered, and prevention or dispute recovery for the orders and payment methods they support.

Fraud that turns into chargebacks can also trigger Shopify's network dispute resolution program (NDRP). Once your account is flagged, it settles eligible disputes for you, for a fee per dispute.

Quick answer: The best Shopify fraud prevention setup has two parts. Start with Shopify's built-in tools. These are Fraud Analysis, the free Fraud Control app, and Shopify Protect for eligible US Shop Pay orders. Then add a specialist layer that fits your risk.

Options to compare include Chargeflow for chargeback prevention, alerts and recovery. Signifyd, NoFraud and Riskified offer vendor-described guarantees on approved orders. Forter offers enterprise identity intelligence, and SEON offers data enrichment. The right choice depends on your order volume, your risk and how much manual review you want to avoid.

These Shopify-specific picks sit inside a wider ecommerce fraud prevention plan. That plan also covers policy, process and dispute response.

eCommerce fraud pays well for scammers. Shopify merchants are prime targets. Juniper Research forecast that ecommerce payment fraud losses would reach $91 billion in 2028.

Mastercard's What is the true cost of a chargeback for businesses? article (updated June 2026, research by Datos Insights) adds a second forecast. It says the global cost of chargebacks to merchants will rise from $36.9 billion in 2026 to $46.1 billion in 2029.

Scope note: payment fraud is not click fraud. Many searches for a Shopify "click fraud app" are about fake clicks on paid ads. Those clicks waste ad spend. This guide covers a different problem. It is about fraud or disputed orders and the chargebacks that follow.

The tools below screen orders, block risky checkouts and manage disputes. They are not ad-click filters. If your problem is fake ad traffic, start with your ad platform's own traffic controls.

For Shopify merchants, fraud costs more than the order itself. LexisNexis Risk Solutions says each dollar of direct fraud loss costs U.S. retail and ecommerce merchants about $5.13 in total. That count adds fees, labor and lost goods (2026 study).

Friendly fraud is when a cardholder disputes a real charge. It adds to eCommerce chargeback losses. Order screening alone cannot catch it. Merchants who grow onto Shopify Plus face even more risk. More orders, cross-border sales and custom checkout builds all widen the surface for fraud.

The stakes are high. Fraudsters use stolen card databases, AI bot attacks and social engineering to get past basic security. At the same time, real buyers expect a fast, easy checkout. So it is hard to add security without hurting sales.

This guide covers the top Shopify fraud protection tools for merchants. It explains what Shopify's own tools do and don't cover. It also shows how a Shopify Payments chargeback plays out once one lands in your admin.

Maybe you're a startup facing your first fraud attack. Maybe you run a large store with thousands of orders a day. Either way, you'll find clear steps to protect your business and keep checkout smooth.

Compreendendo os desafios relacionados à fraude no “ Shopify ”

Before you compare tools, know what they defend against. Shopify merchants face card testing, friendly fraud, account takeover and return abuse. Each one points to a different feature in the comparison below. Those are guaranteed decisions, checkout blocking or dispute automation.

Each type has its own signals. To tell a risky order from a slow shipping address, know which signals to watch for before you shop for software. If you have no plan in place yet, build a complete fraud-prevention strategy first. That means policy, checkout settings and team process. Then the tool you pick plugs into a working process.

A newer twist in 2026 is checkout by AI shopping agents, not a human clicking "buy." An agent may place or cancel an order for a buyer. Then it isn't always clear who approved the charge. That makes dispute evidence harder. Read the agentic commerce evidence playbook before this traffic grows.

Next, let's look at why Shopify's built-in fraud tools aren't enough on their own. Then we'll cover which paid tools close the gap.

This guide compares tool categories and native coverage. For the operating process after a paid order exists, use the pre-fulfillment chargeback prevention guide and Shopify workflow implementation guide.

Shopify's native tools: Fraud Analysis, Fraud Control & Shopify Protect

Shopify ships three native layers today. Fraud Analysis shows risk signs for eligible online credit-card orders. Where offered, it also gives a Low, Medium or High risk call.

The free Fraud Control app adds a dashboard for fraud and chargeback data. It has checkout rules that need Shopify Payments. It also has ready-made Shopify Flow templates, such as canceling and restocking high-risk orders.

Shopify Protect pays back eligible fraud chargebacks on qualifying orders. Shopify's own help pages say Fraud Control "doesn't guarantee coverage against chargebacks." It shows risk. It doesn't insure against it. That gap is why many stores add a special tool for the risks the native layers miss.

Check who qualifies before you build a workflow around the risk call. Shopify’s fraud analysis documentation splits fraud indicators from risk recommendations. Fraud indicators come with Basic and higher plans. Risk recommendations come with Grow and higher plans, or with Shopify Payments.

Fraud analysis applies to eligible online credit-card orders. Do not assume every order or payment method gets the same risk call.

What Shopify Protect Actually Covers (and Where It Stops)

Many merchants think Shopify Protect works like blanket chargeback insurance. It doesn't. Shopify's own rules say protection only applies when all of the following are true:

  • The store has a United States Shopify Payments account. The order was paid through Shop Pay.
  • The order has only physical items that require shipping. Digital goods are out. So are buy-online-pickup-in-store orders.
  • The order is fulfilled with valid tracking within 7 days of being placed. It must use one of Shopify's supported carriers.
  • Separately, the shipment is in transit to the customer within 10 days of the order. These are two different deadlines. Tracking added after day 7 voids coverage.
  • The shipping address was not changed after checkout.
  • For subscriptions, only the first order is eligible. Renewal orders are not covered.
  • Shop Pay Installments orders are not eligible.

Say a protected order gets a fraud chargeback. Shopify pays back the chargeback amount and the chargeback fee. Rules can change, so check the current Shopify Protect eligibility page before you rely on it. Outside that lane, merchants often think they are covered when they are not:

Scroll to compare all columns. Use the arrow keys when the table is focused.

CenárioCovered by Shopify Protect?
US Shop Pay order, physical goods, fulfilled and tracked on timeYes, reimburses the chargeback amount and fee if ruled fraudulent
Store without a United States Shopify Payments accountNo, a US Shopify Payments account is required
Digital products or buy-online-pickup-in-store ordersNão
Checkout paid with a card entered directly (not Shop Pay)Não

Second and later orders in a subscriptionNo, only the first order qualifies
Order fulfilled late or tracking added after day 7Não
Chargebacks that are not fraudulent chargebacks (for example, product or service complaints)No, reimbursement applies to fraudulent chargebacks on eligible, protected orders

In practice, orders outside these rules have no native safety net. That holds no matter how good the Fraud Analysis score looks. It includes orders not paid through Shop Pay and subscription renewals. It also includes stores without a US Shopify Payments account.

What Each Native Shopify Tool Does

Shopify's built-in tools are a good place to start. Each one does a different job. The table below lists what each tool does and where it stops.

Shopify Fraud Risk: Types of Fraud and How to Assess Your Store

Your Shopify fraud risk depends on what you sell, who buys it and how fast you ship. Good fraud protection for ecommerce starts with knowing which types of fraud hit your store most.

  • Credit card fraud: a thief pays with stolen card details. This is where Shopify credit card fraud protection and order screening matter most.
  • Account takeover: someone logs in to a real customer account and places orders with saved details.
  • Friendly fraud: a real customer buys, then disputes the charge. Explore friendly fraud prevention for controls before fulfillment.
  • Refund and returns fraud: a buyer abuses your return or refund rules to keep goods and money.
  • Card testing: bots run many small payments to check which stolen cards still work.

Check your store’s fraud risk in 4 steps

  1. Review the last 90 days of orders that Shopify fraud analysis flagged as medium or high risk.
  2. List the products with high resale value, such as electronics and luxury goods.
  3. Look for rush shipping, mismatched billing and shipping addresses, and many orders from one card.
  4. Track your chargeback rate by reason, so you can see which fraud type costs you most.

Shopify fraud detection gives you the signals. Shopify fraud management is what you do next: hold, verify, cancel or fulfill. Rules that hold or cancel risky orders work as a Shopify fraud filter.

Shopify Fraud Protect vs Shopify Protect

Fraud Protect was Shopify’s older, paid option for Shopify Payments fraud protection. It covered fraud chargebacks on Shopify Payments orders. It charged a fee on each protected order. Shopify did not list the Shopify Fraud Protect cost on its switching page.

Shopify Protect is free and covers eligible Shop Pay orders. You can’t use both at once. Once you turn Fraud Protect off, you can’t turn it back on. Shopify explains this on its Fraud Protect to Shopify Protect page.

Shopify Fraud Prevention Apps Compared

We rechecked Chargeflow's rating on its Shopify App Store listing on 2026-10-13. We checked the other Shopify fraud apps in August 2026. Their ratings may have changed, since app rankings and even brand names shift often.

Guarantee entries are vendor-described. Read each vendor's terms for covered orders and exclusions. A "not listed" note means the vendor sells to Shopify merchants through a direct deal, not an app store listing.

These ratings are snapshots from different dates, not a current ranking. Before you compare ratings, recheck every listing on the same day. Also keep the rating and the review count apart.

Chargeflow: Best All-Around Chargeback Solution for Shopify

Chargeflow is a Shopify app for chargeback prevention, alerts and recovery. It automates evidence collection and dispute submission. Chargeflow Prevent helps flag risky orders after purchase but before shipping. It does not make approval decisions at checkout, and it does not guarantee them. If checkout screening is your main gap, pair it with a screening tool.

An order decision between payment and fulfillment

Chargeflow Prevent works after payment and before shipping. Review its advice. Apply the merchant's Proceed, On Hold or Cancel policy. The Prevent workflow guide still marks automated Verify as coming soon; confirm availability and use a documented manual verification path where needed. Then confirm the real order and shipment state. A later cancel call cannot unship an order that has already shipped. Keep the decision attached to the order for support and disputes.

The Chargeflow Prevent documentation now covers Shopify support. It lists the public API as coming soon. Confirm it works for your account before you plan any other integration. Prevent does not replace checkout screening, return checks or a response to a filed chargeback.

Principais características:

  • Automated dispute responses, written and sent for you.
  • Real-time chargeback alerts to catch disputes before they escalate.
  • Post-purchase fraud detection with Chargeflow Prevent.
  • Predictive insights powered by ChargeScore AI.
  • Integrations with Shopify, Stripe, PayPal, and other payment processors.

Prós:

  • Prevention, alerts and recovery in one platform.
  • Pricing is usage-based and differs by product (see the capability map above).

Contras:

  • Most useful for merchants with moderate to high dispute volumes.

Ideal para:

Shopify merchants who want less manual dispute work, plus post-purchase prevention and alerts. Start with chargeback protection and real-time chargeback prevention alerts. Or install the app from the Chargeflow listing on the Shopify App Store.

‍

Signifyd: Guaranteed Decisioning for High-Volume Stores

Signifyd built its name on a money-back guarantee tied to every "approve" decision. If an order it clears turns out to be fraud, Signifyd covers the chargeback.

How It Works: Signifyd's machine learning models score each order against data from its network. They return an instant approve, hold or decline call. If an approved order later charges back as fraud, Signifyd's guarantee pays it back. That moves the money risk of automatic decisions away from the merchant.

‍

SEON: Deep Data Enrichment and Digital Footprinting

SEON stands out by looking at the digital footprint behind each order. It does not just check payment data. It looks at the person making the purchase. It checks social media profiles, email reputation, phone number history and device fingerprints.

How it works: When a buyer places an order, SEON checks their email address, phone number, IP address and device. From these, it builds a full risk profile. It checks if the email has linked social media accounts, and when they were made.

It also checks if the phone number matches the stated location and if the device was used for past fraud. Dozens of other data points feed the score.

‍

NoFraud: Catch High-Risk Orders Before They Ship

NoFraud pairs AI fraud detection with human expert review. A chargeback guarantee backs it. This hybrid approach aims for high accuracy with few false positives. In 2026, NoFraud bought the policy-abuse platform Yofi. Its Shopify App Store listing now shows the combined brand Wyllo.

How It Works: Machine learning first checks every order against hundreds of data points. Orders that are clearly good or clearly bad get instant decisions. Gray-area orders go to a team of fraud analysts. They review each one within minutes. They look for patterns and context that AI might miss.

‍

ClearSale: Stop Fraud, Sell More & Create Better Customer Experiences

ClearSale built its name on pairing AI with human review at large scale. It says a chargeback guarantee backs its service. Check its terms for covered orders.

How It Works: ClearSale's AI does a first risk check on every order. High-risk orders go to its team of trained fraud analysts. They dig into each case. Sometimes they contact buyers to confirm the order is real.

‍

FraudLabs Pro: Secure Your Business From Online Payment Fraud

FraudLabs Pro targets small and mid-sized merchants who need good fraud prevention without enterprise pricing. It offers broad fraud detection with clear, volume-based pricing. That puts strong protection within reach of growing stores.

How It Works: FraudLabs Pro checks each order against its fraud database. It checks email and IP, looks for proxy or VPN use and checks the billing address. Then it gives a risk score and a call (Approve, Review, or Reject).
Merchants can set their own rules for when to approve or reject orders on autopilot.

‍

Forter: Identity Intelligence for the AI Era

Forter stands out by judging the trust behind each customer action across the whole shopping journey. It does not rely on fixed rules or scores. Instead, it uses a large global identity network and machine learning to judge how far to trust a user. Forter sells its Shopify integration directly to large merchants, not through the Shopify App Store.

How It Works: Forter uses a global identity network and AI to judge buyer trust from login to checkout. It reads behavior and identity signals. Then it returns an approve or decline decision. It covers payment fraud, account takeover and policy abuse.

‍

Blockify: Prevent Fraud to Secure and Grow Your Shopify Store

Blockify takes a different approach to fraud prevention. It blocks risky traffic before it can place orders. It does not check orders after they happen. Instead, it blocks access from high-risk places, IP addresses, VPNs, proxies and known bad actors.

How It Works: Blockify keeps lists of risky IP addresses, VPN servers, proxy services and high-fraud places. When someone visits your store, Blockify checks their IP address and location against these lists. Risky visitors see a block page or get sent elsewhere. So they can't browse or buy.

‍

Sift: Better Fraud Decisions Through Identity Trust

Sift offers a fraud prevention platform for large businesses. It runs on a global data network that reads events across its merchants. Its machine learning models spot fraud patterns across the whole Sift network, not just your store. Sift sells its Shopify integration directly, not through an app store listing.

How It Works: Sift's Digital Trust & Safety platform tracks user behavior across sessions and devices. Over time, it builds behavior profiles. It gives users, accounts, content and orders live risk scores (0-100). Hundreds of signals feed each score. Merchants set score limits. Those limits decide which actions trigger reviews, blocks or approvals.

‍

Kount: Confidently Manage Fraud. Substantially Increase Profits.

Kount is an Equifax company. It offers trust and safety tools for fraud prevention, identity checks and risk management. It uses data, machine learning and AI. It helps online stores, payment processors and other online firms. The goal is to stop fraud, cut chargebacks and make checkout smoother for buyers.

How It Works: Kount uses data and adaptive AI to check high-risk orders in real time. The platform automates key decisions: approvals, declines, refunds and cancellations. You can set your own business policies and risk limits. This cuts false positives, chargebacks and lost revenue. Buyers get a quick, smooth checkout.

Riskified: Guaranteed Protection Built for Shopify Plus

Riskified is listed on the Shopify App Store as free to install. It attaches a chargeback guarantee to every order it approves. It relies on identity and behavior signals from across its merchant network, not card data alone. That is why it shows up most in searches from larger and Shopify Plus stores that compare it with Signifyd.

How It Works: Riskified scores each order against its cross-merchant identity network. It returns an approve or decline call before payment capture. If an approved order later charges back as fraud, its guarantee covers it. So the money risk of the decision sits with Riskified, not the merchant.

‍

Accertify: Enterprise Machine-Learning Fraud Detection

Accertify lists a free-to-install Shopify app. But it is built and priced for large merchants who run custom fraud rules. It is not aimed at small stores that want a plug-and-play guarantee.

How It Works: Accertify pairs machine-learning risk models with a rules engine. Merchants can tune the rules to their own risk tolerance. One console covers payment fraud, account takeover and policy abuse. It doesn't publish a standard chargeback guarantee the way Riskified or Signifyd do. So treat it as a detection and workflow layer, not an insurance-style backstop.

Shopify Fraud Prevention for Black Friday and Cyber Monday

Peak weekend changes which Shopify settings matter most. Order volume jumps. Staff time for manual review shrinks. Shipping backlogs build. That is where the native layers above tend to break down. In 2026, Black Friday falls on November 27 and Cyber Monday on November 30.

Work through the steps below before then. Use the Black Friday and Cyber Monday chargeback guide for the wider dispute calendar. For checkout, shipping and support prep, see our BFCM readiness guide.

  • Check Shopify Protect timing against your shipping capacity. Protection needs valid tracking within 7 days. The shipment must be in transit within 10 days. A Black Friday order (November 27) needs tracking by December 4 and transit by December 7. A Cyber Monday order (November 30) needs tracking by December 7 and transit by December 10.
  • Know what a missed date costs. Orders that miss those dates lose protection, even if the sale was real.
  • Set up Fraud Control and Flow before traffic peaks. Turn on the Fraud Control checkout rules (they need Shopify Payments). Turn on the Flow templates too, such as canceling and restocking high-risk orders. Then review does not depend on someone watching the admin all weekend.
  • Watch for card testing bursts. Bursts of small orders, repeated declines and many orders from one device or IP are easy to miss at high volume. Set order limits per customer. Decide in advance who can pause checkout or tighten rules. See how card testing shows up at peak for the metrics to track.
  • Plan review for orders Shopify Protect does not cover. Some orders have no native payback. These include cards typed in directly instead of Shop Pay, subscription renewals and digital items. Send them to manual review or a specialist screening layer.
  • Save evidence at order time. Card networks often give cardholders up to 120 calendar days to dispute a charge (Adyen, dispute timeframes). So a Black Friday order can be disputed until about March 27, 2027. A Cyber Monday order can be disputed until about March 30.
  • Respond inside Shopify's window. Shopify gives merchants 7 to 21 days to respond once a dispute opens. Keep tracking, delivery proof and customer messages ready.

The Q1 chargeback season guide covers what arrives after the holidays. Explore friendly fraud prevention for controls before fulfillment. Native payment-risk screening does not predict every later claim, while identity and dispute history can help reduce some repeat-abuser exposure before fulfillment. Returns and refunds that turn into disputes are covered in holiday return and refund fraud.

A specialist layer helps most where Shopify's native tools stop. That means post-purchase prevention before shipping, alerts, and automatic evidence collection for the disputes that arrive in Q1.

How Shopify Payments Chargebacks Actually Work

A chargeback on Shopify works a bit differently from a dispute on a generic gateway. Shopify Payments sits between you and the card networks. It runs the whole workflow inside your admin. Merchants who use a separate payment service provider follow that provider's own dispute portal and deadlines. Those can differ from what's described here.

If you're new to the basics, start with what is a chargeback before you work through the Shopify steps below.

  • Notification: Shopify alerts you in the admin and by email as soon as a card network opens a dispute. It also shows a due date for your response.
  • Response window: merchants typically get 7 to 21 days to submit evidence. The window depends on the card network and dispute type. For Shopify Payments, order data is added to the response for you. The response is sent on the due date, even if you add no evidence yourself.
  • Where to respond: disputes live under Orders in the admin. You can filter them by chargeback and inquiry status. Shopify asks for the evidence each dispute reason code needs. For example, it asks for proof of delivery for "item not received." It asks for a signed policy for subscription cancellations.
  • Evidence files: check the upload limits shown in the admin before you attach scanned proof of delivery. Large files may need compressing.
  • Statuses: the admin shows open, submitted, won or lost.
  • Decision timeline: once evidence is sent, the issuing bank's review can take up to 75 days. Shopify does not make the ruling. The cardholder's bank decides. It can still rule for the customer even with strong evidence. Inquiries usually take 65 to 75 days but can take longer.

The main lesson drives most of the tools in this guide. Submit complete, well-organized evidence early. Automate that process where you can. Then a missed 7-day window never costs you a case you could have won.

Shopify Perguntas frequentes sobre prevenção de fraudes

O “ Shopify ” possui proteção integrada contra fraudes?

Yes, in three layers. Fraud Analysis gives risk signs for eligible online credit-card orders. Risk recommendations come with Grow and higher plans or with Shopify Payments. The free Fraud Control app adds data, checkout rules and Shopify Flow templates for rules and automation.

Shopify Protect pays back fraud chargebacks on eligible, protected orders only. Only this third layer is real money protection, and it has strict rules. So many stores add a specialist tool for the orders it does not cover.

What does Shopify Protect cover?

Shopify's rules say it covers fraud chargebacks on eligible orders. The merchant must be based in the US with a US Shopify Payments account. The order must be a Shop Pay order of physical items that ship. It must have valid tracking within 7 days and be in transit within 10 days. The address can't change after checkout.

Shop Pay Installments orders and subscription renewals are excluded. If an order is protected, Shopify pays back the chargeback amount and the chargeback fee. Rules can change, so check the current page.

Is payment fraud the same as click fraud?

No. Click fraud is fake clicks on paid ads that waste ad spend. Payment fraud is a fraud or disputed order that can end in a chargeback. The tools in this guide deal with orders and disputes, not ad clicks.

Qual é o melhor aplicativo de prevenção de fraudes para o Shopify?

It depends on the job. Some tools back their approvals with a guarantee. These include Signifyd, NoFraud (now listed as Wyllo on the Shopify App Store) and Riskified. They suit stores that want a vendor guarantee on approved orders. Forter and Accertify target large-store identity and rules. SEON suits data-rich screening.

Chargeflow covers post-purchase prevention, alerts and dispute recovery. Match the tool to your order volume, your risk and the gap you need to close.

How long do I have to respond to a Shopify chargeback?

Shopify says merchants usually have 7 to 21 days to submit evidence. For Shopify Payments, the response is sent on the due date, even if you add no evidence. The bank's review can take up to 75 days after that.

Does Shopify Protect cover international orders?

Shopify's rules apply to the merchant and the order. You need a US-based merchant with a US Shopify Payments account. You also need a Shop Pay order of physical items that ship. Buyer country is not listed as a rule.

So check the current eligibility page for a given cross-border order. Orders outside the rules, such as non-Shop-Pay checkouts, need another layer.

Como faço para impedir a fraude por pessoas próximas no site Shopify?

Use clear billing names, delivery proof and fast customer service. Add dispute evidence automation on top. Friendly fraud involves a real purchase, so order screening alone does not stop it. Explore friendly fraud prevention and post-purchase prevention.

O “ Shopify Protect” é suficiente por si só?

Not for every store. It covers eligible orders only. Stores with orders outside its rules need other controls. Examples are non-Shop-Pay checkouts and subscription renewals.

What is the difference between the Fraud Control app and Shopify Protect?

Fraud Control is a free dashboard and rules layer. Shopify says it does not guarantee coverage against chargebacks. Shopify Protect is the payback layer for eligible, protected orders. They work well together.

What are the best Shopify security apps overall?

For fraud and chargeback protection, compare the tools above against your risk. Do you also need geo and IP blocking? Then pair a screening or recovery tool with a blocking app. Don't expect one tool to do both jobs.

How do I prepare my Shopify store for Black Friday and Cyber Monday fraud?

Before November 27, check that orders can ship with tracking inside Shopify Protect's 7-day and 10-day windows. Turn on the Fraud Control checkout rules and Flow templates. Set order limits to slow card testing.

Plan review for orders Shopify Protect does not cover. Save delivery and customer evidence at order time. Holiday orders can be disputed into late March 2027.

Choosing the Right Fraud Stack for Your Shopify Store

The right pick depends on order volume and risk, not a single "best" app. Large and Shopify Plus stores often look at guarantee-backed tools such as Signifyd or Riskified. They add Chargeflow for post-purchase prevention and dispute recovery.

Stores that want deep identity signals before any decision may prefer SEON, Forter or Accertify. Stores on a budget can start with FraudLabs Pro or the native Fraud Control app. They can add a paid layer once volume justifies it.

Whatever stack you choose, buying software only solves half the problem: detection. Once a tool flags an order, you still need a set way to decide what to do with a flagged order. You also need a way to fight the chargebacks that slip through good screening.
