TL;DR:

  • Match an unfamiliar Whop card charge to your receipt and Orders history before you treat it as fraud.
  • Refund requests go through Whop’s Resolution Center: buyers have 120 days to open one, and sellers get 7 days to reply.
  • A bank chargeback on Whop carries a $15 fee and a 7 to 21 day response window shown as the “Respond by” date.
  • Whop’s $29 early dispute alerts let sellers refund before a dispute becomes a formal chargeback.
  • Win by sending evidence that answers the specific claim, with one owner submitting each case.

A Whop chargeback is a bank or card-issuer dispute over a payment made on Whop. It is not the same as a Whop refund request, which starts in Whop’s Resolution Center and never reaches the bank.

An unfamiliar card charge, a refund request, and a bank chargeback each need a different first step:

  • Unfamiliar charge: match it to a Whop receipt and your order history.
  • Refund request: the seller has 7 days to answer in the Resolution Center.
  • Bank dispute: the seller has 7 to 21 days to respond and pays a $15 fee.

Sellers manage supported bank disputes in Whop’s Dispute fighter. The Resolution Center is a separate route for customer refund requests. Keep the disputed payment, product, access record, cancellation history, and any refund linked together. Digital usage can support fulfillment. It does not prove who authorized the card. The same rule applies to other digital goods chargebacks.

What Is a Whop Charge on My Credit Card?

A Whop charge on your credit card or debit card is a payment to a creator or store that sells through Whop. Whop runs the checkout, so the billing descriptor on your statement shows the charge under Whop’s name, often with the seller’s store name. That is why one Whop charge can look unfamiliar even when the purchase was real.

Lines such as “WHOP*HW” or “WHOP*DS” are examples buyers search for. Check your statement details against your receipts to match the seller.

A Whop credit card charge and a Whop charge on a debit card follow the same steps.

Seeing Whop on your bank statement and not sure why? Before you call it fraud, check three things:

  • Search your email for “Whop” and “order confirmation.”
  • Open Orders in your Whop profile and compare the date and amount.
  • Ask anyone who shares the card about a course, community, or subscription.

Still no match? Treat it as an unauthorized transaction. Contact Whop through its official help site and call the number on the back of your card. Do not trust a phone number or descriptor lookup from a random search result.

Identify the Charge Before Choosing a Dispute Route

If a card statement shows a Whop entry you do not recognize, start with the date and amount. A statement prefix can help you find a purchase. It does not prove which seller charged you or who authorized the payment.

Sellers can use the same logic in reverse. Ask the buyer for the receipt, product name, and account email. Then decide if the complaint is a recognition problem, a refund request, or a bank dispute. Each one has its own record and its own clock.

SituatieFirst record to checkNext actionWhat the record cannot prove

Whop’s Resolution Center documentation gives sellers seven days to respond. After that, Whop steps in and decides the case. That is a different process from a bank chargeback, so check the case you actually received. Never apply one deadline to both.

Illustrative case: a buyer recognizes the subscription after getting a receipt. They still dispute a renewal that hit after they cancelled. Keep the receipt for the recognition question. Keep the dated cancellation and billing sequence for the cancellation claim. Solving the first problem does not rebut the second.

How to Get a Refund on Whop

To get a refund on Whop, request it from your Orders page. The request opens a Resolution Center case, and Whop’s refund request guide says you get a decision within a week at most.

1
Open Orders
Sign in at whop.com and open Orders from your profile menu.
2
Find the payment
Locate the charge under Billing history.
3
Select Request Refund
Use the three-dot menu next to the payment.
4
Explain and attach proof
Say what went wrong. Add screenshots or receipts (up to 5 files).
5
Watch the case
The seller has 7 days to accept, deny, or ask for more info. Then Whop decides.

Buyers can open a case within 120 days of each payment. Each payment gets one case.

Once a seller refunds, Whop’s refund documentation says the money usually lands in 3 to 7 business days, depending on the bank. Each seller sets its own Whop refund policy, so read it before you file. Cancelling a plan stops future renewals, but Whop’s cancellation guide confirms it does not refund past payments on its own.

Resolution Center Refund vs. Bank Chargeback on Whop

This is the Whop version of the classic chargeback vs. refund split. The two routes run on different rules, money flows, and deadlines. This table puts Whop’s published numbers side by side.

Read the Actual Chargeback Deadline and Fee

Whop’s dispute-management documentation lists a $15 dispute fee and a response period of 7 to 21 days, depending on the card company. Whop debits the disputed amount and the fee from your balance when the dispute is filed. Use the displayed “Respond by” date as your real deadline. Miss it and you lose the dispute automatically. Other processors set their own fees and deadlines; compare them in our guides to payment platform disputes.

Like other chargeback fees, budget the $15 into every dispute you receive. The buyer’s own window to file is set by card-network rules, covered in this chargeback time limit guide.

Whop uploads some records for you:

  • Customer details: email address, name, and billing address.
  • Product details: purchase date, description, and an access activity log.
  • Policies: cancellation and refund disclosures, plus a refund refusal explanation.

The card issuer decides the bank dispute outcome. An automated upload does not prove every fact the claim needs. Review the packet for the actual claim and confirm final submission. A saved draft is not a submitted response.

For account health, read the current notice and agreement for your business. High dispute rates or open Resolution Center cases can lead Whop to hold a reserve on your balance. Do not treat one generic dispute-rate percentage as a rule for every account.

Stop Disputes Early With Whop Alerts

Whop’s early dispute alerts cost $29 per alert. They warn you when a buyer starts a dispute, so you can refund before it becomes a formal chargeback.

New accounts auto-refund alerted payments under $500 by default until they build payment history. You can change that limit in Settings, under Risk. Learn how chargeback alerts work across card networks before you set your threshold.

Pick the threshold with your margins in mind. A $29 alert on a $20 product costs more than the sale. On a $300 course, it avoids the $15 fee and the dispute on your record.

Make Digital Product Promises Specific

Describe what the buyer receives, when access starts, what is included, and how renewals work. A course, community, coaching session, and download each leave different fulfillment records. Never promise a financial or personal result the product cannot deliver.

Save the offer shown at purchase and the acceptance record. If the product changes later, today’s sales page does not replace the original promise. The digital goods prevention guide helps you separate consent, access delivery, and actual usage.

  • Send a recognizable receipt and working access instructions.
  • Monitor failed entitlement creation and delivery messages.
  • Make cancellation and support routes easy to find.
  • Record service outages and the remedies provided.
  • Confirm completed refunds and unresolved exceptions.

Choose Evidence for the Specific Claim

Match the evidence to the reason the buyer gave:

  • Nonreceipt: show how access was delivered and whether the buyer used it.
  • Cancellation: show the request, the effective date, and the billing sequence.
  • Unauthorized payment: look at payment and account details, not just a login.

Start with the dispute condition behind the case. Then use the evidence standardization workflow to build a short chronology. Use readable records that answer the actual claim, and explain what each exhibit proves. Stripe’s dispute evidence best practices give the same advice.

Label access events in plain language. Remove unrelated chats and sensitive data. To see where each record comes from, check these chargeback evidence sources. Then adapt a chargeback response template so the narrative points to the records instead of replacing them.

A genuine account can be compromised. Follow the account takeover investigation workflow when security changes or odd activity suggest it. Intentional friendly fraud needs a different assessment from account compromise or a confusing renewal.

Coordinate Subscription and Refund Actions

Keep a subscription’s billing status separate from its access status. A refund, cancellation, pause, or disputed renewal can each need a different action. Use the recurring payment operations guide to connect the accepted plan, each charge, and the cancellation date. For renewal disputes in depth, see this guide to subscription chargebacks.

Before you issue a separate credit, check if the payment already has a bank dispute. On Whop, a full chargeback cannot be refunded. If the buyer cancels the dispute with their bank, you can refund, but you still need to submit evidence.

Confirm the payment reversal meaning for the credit in front of you. Then use the refund reconciliation workflow to sort pending, failed, partial, and completed credits.

Support should explain the status without promising the issuer’s result. If the buyer does not recognize the charge, help them find the product through official account and receipt details. Never ask a person reporting real unauthorized activity to delay calling their bank.

Extend the Workflow Where Your Business Needs More Coverage

Whop provides native dispute and refund tools. Extra automation can help when it supports your payment channels and evidence sources. Confirm integration availability, permissions, and submission ownership before you assign a case to another service.

Chargeflow supports eligible dispute operations across connected payment systems, but do not assume a native Whop connection. Give each payment one submission owner, either your team or one connected service. Two systems should never submit different responses. Keep one source of truth for case status and one owner for exceptions.

Track missing access, cancellation errors, refund completion, response coverage, and final outcomes on their own. The chargeback reduction plan turns repeat causes into specific fixes instead of vague win-rate promises.

Veelgestelde vragen

What is a Whop charge on my card?

A Whop charge on your card is a payment to a seller that uses Whop’s checkout. Compare the date and amount with your Whop receipts and order history. A descriptor can help you find the purchase, but it does not prove who authorized it. Report an unresolved or unauthorized charge to Whop’s official support and your bank.

Is Whop legit or a scam?

Whop is a legitimate payment company. Its Buyer Terms say Whop acts as merchant of record only as the payment processor. The seller named at checkout and on your receipt supplies the product, and that seller's refund policy applies.

Report a product that breaks Whop's rules to support@whop.com. You can still dispute an unauthorized charge with your card issuer.

How do I dispute a Whop charge?

To dispute a Whop charge, first request a refund from Orders on whop.com, which opens a Resolution Center case. If that fails, or the charge is unauthorized, call your card issuer and file a dispute. The bank then runs its own chargeback process with the seller.

How long does it take to receive a refund from Whop?

A Whop refund usually reaches the buyer in 3 to 7 business days after the seller or Whop processes it. The exact timing depends on the buyer’s bank or payment method. Whop says a Resolution Center refund request gets a decision within a week at most.

Can I get a refund after cancelling my Whop subscription?

Cancelling a Whop subscription stops future charges, and access lasts until the paid period ends. It does not refund past payments by itself. To get money back for the current period, request a refund from Orders. The creator’s refund policy applies.

Does a Whop refund request use the bank chargeback deadline?

No. A Whop Resolution Center refund request and a bank dispute are separate cases. Sellers get 7 days in the Resolution Center and 7 to 21 days for a bank chargeback. Read the deadline shown in the case you actually received.

How long do sellers have to respond to a Whop chargeback?

Whop’s documentation gives sellers 7 to 21 days to respond to a Whop chargeback, depending on the card company. Use the dispute’s displayed “Respond by” date. A missed deadline means an automatic loss, so confirm the response was submitted.

Do Whop access logs guarantee a win?

No. Whop access logs can support delivery or usage, but they do not prove who authorized the payment. They also do not settle every cancellation or refund claim. Match the evidence to the actual complaint.

One Owner, One Clock, One Packet Per Whop Dispute
