The difference that matters most: with Chargeflow you can calculate your cost before you sign anything. With Accertify you need a quote. The worked example below shows what that means per dispute.
Different Jobs: Fraud Screening, Dispute Recovery and Pre-Dispute Alerts
Most "Accertify vs" pages compare feature lists. The better question is which job you are hiring a vendor for. There are three, and they happen at different moments.
- Pre-transaction fraud screening decides whether to approve an order. This is Accertify's core strength, built on consortium data and machine learning.
- Pre-dispute alerts catch a cardholder complaint before it becomes a chargeback, so you can refund and avoid the dispute. Chargeflow Alerts handle this; read how chargeback alerts work.
- Post-transaction dispute recovery wins back revenue on chargebacks that already happened, including friendly fraud that no screening tool can stop at checkout.
Accertify sells all three as modules of one enterprise platform. Chargeflow specializes in the last two and adds Prevent for post-purchase fraud and friendly fraud prevention. If you already run a fraud screening tool you are happy with, you do not need to replace it: connect Chargeflow to your processors and store, and it handles the dispute side. Our guide to fraud prevention vs chargeback management explains the split in more detail.
True Cost at Three Order Values
Illustrative calculation. Recovery is conditional on winning. Retained amounts shown before separate processor fees, goods, shipping and internal work are not net profit.
Because Chargeflow publishes its pricing, you can run the numbers today. Here is what one disputed order costs at three order values.
| Disputed order value | $60 | $250 | $1,200 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chargeflow fee if you win | $15.00 | $62.50 | $300.00 |
| You keep if you win | $45.00 | $187.50 | $900.00 |
| Chargeflow fee if you lose | $0 | $0 | $0 |
| Chargeflow Alerts cost if deflected | $29 (you refund $60) | $29 (you refund $250) | $29 (you refund $1,200) |
| Accertify cost | Quote-based: ask for per-case, platform and services fees | Quote-based | Quote-based |
Two points stand out. First, Chargeflow charges no Automation recovery fee on a lost dispute, but processor fees, internal work and other costs can still make a challenge uneconomic. Second, Alerts should be evaluated at each order value: an eligible pre-dispute resolution can prevent a chargeback, which may avoid a filed dispute and qualify for a VAMP exclusion under the applicable rules. For Accertify, ask for every fee line in writing so you can fill in the last row.
How Each Approach Affects Your Visa VAMP Ratio
Monitoring scope: Visa’s count-based VAMP ratio uses TC40 fraud reports plus TC15 disputes divided by TC05 settled card-not-present transactions. In the US, Canada, EU and Asia Pacific, the Excessive Merchant threshold became 150 basis points with a 1,500 monthly count minimum on April 1, 2026, subject to acquirer-portfolio treatment. Eligible pre-dispute and CE3.0 exclusions depend on data-extract timing. A refund or a win does not automatically erase a separate fraud report. Confirm your applicable region and treatment with your acquirer.
Visa's VAMP fact sheet calculates the ratio as fraud reports (TC40) plus disputes (TC15), divided by settled transactions (TC05). In the US, the Excessive merchant threshold dropped from 220 to 150 basis points on 1 April 2026, with a minimum of 1,500 fraud reports plus disputes per month. Eligible pre-dispute resolutions may be excluded, subject to Visa’s data-extract timing; a separate fraud report is not automatically removed.
That last rule is why alerts matter. A won dispute still counts toward your ratio. An eligible pre-dispute resolution can avoid the dispute count, subject to the applicable rules and data-extract timing. Here is a worked example for a US merchant:
| Sistema métrico | Before alerts | After alerts deflect 300 disputes |
|---|---|---|
| Settled transactions (TC05) | 100,000 | 100,000 |
| Denuncias de fraude (TC40) | 600 | 600 |
| Disputes (TC15) | 1,000 | 700 |
| Fraud + disputes count | 1,600 | 1,300 |
| VAMP ratio | 1.60% (160 bps) | 1.30% (130 bps) |
| US Excessive merchant status (from 1 April 2026) | Yes: above 150 bps and at least 1,500 count | No: below 150 bps and below 1,500 count |
Winning the 300 disputes instead would recover revenue, but the ratio would stay at 1.60%. That is why Chargeflow pairs Automation for recovery with Alerts for ratio protection. Check your own numbers with the VAMP calculator, and read our full VAMP guide for acquirer thresholds and fees. Mastercard runs its own program; see how to avoid Mastercard chargeback monitoring programs.
Questions to Ask in an Accertify or Chargeflow Demo
Enterprise sales cycles reward buyers who ask precise questions. Use this checklist with any vendor, and compare the answers side by side.
What share of my chargebacks will you represent?
What is the pricing model, in writing?
What is the minimum term and exit process?
How long until the first dispute is answered?
Do alerts double-charge when two networks flag the same case?
Can I keep my current fraud screening tool?
If you are moving from an existing provider, follow our step-by-step guide on how to switch chargeback providers.
Reviews and Ratings
As checked 2 November 2026, on the same platforms:
- G2: Chargeflow 4.7/5 from 278 reviews (G2); Accertify 4.6/5 from 14 reviews (G2).
- Shopify App Store: Chargeflow 4.5/5 from 436 reviews (Shopify); Accertify Fraud Detection, launched 1 August 2025, had no reviews yet (Shopify).
Review counts describe different customer samples, not a controlled test of recovery performance. Accertify’s Shopify listing is for fraud detection, so compare its scope with a dispute app before drawing conclusions.
Why Chargeflow Is the Best Accertify Alternative
- Pay only on wins: 25% of recovered revenue, no cap, no fee on lost disputes, backed by a 4x ROI guarantee.
- Eligible disputes answered: a 100% submission rate, including inquiries, instead of a win rate on a selected subset.
- Prevention that protects your ratio: Alerts live within 24 hours; eligible resolutions may avoid a filed-dispute fee, subject to processor treatment.
- Public pricing and no lock-in: no setup fees, no long-term contract, and you can sign up today.
- Enterprise ready: Chargeflow Enterprise adds custom pricing, a dedicated success manager and SSO, on SOC 2 Type 2 infrastructure.
Compare Recovery Coverage Before Comparing Win Rates
Ask each vendor to export the same closed dispute cohort: eligible cases, represented cases, wins, disputed dollars and recovered dollars. A submission rate and a win rate measure different things.
Hypothetical denominator test
100 eligible → 80 represented → 40 wonThe represented-case win rate is 50%; wins divided by all eligible cases is 40%. Neither establishes recovered dollars or net profit. These are illustrative numbers, not either provider’s performance.
Accertify describes standalone chargeback management and optional services. Request a dispute-only quote, then add the fraud-platform modules only if you need them. Match processor, reason code, order value and decision period when comparing results. Use our historical performance comparison to build that baseline.
